I just got to finish episode 1. I like the animation and subs were great. Figured I should begin with the good news. I didn't like Natsu's flame magic in the anime. It just looks weird with magic seals and such. The only interesting character in episode 1 is Lucky. I'll have to wait to see if there are anymore interesting characters or at least the other characters in manga turn out ok.

Lucy is a boring character -- I didn't like her much in the manga. I even forgot that she is the main character. Then again, fairy tail isn't high on my list of good mangas either.

Anyone up for discussion?

Reading back on posts, I noticed a few of you guys did not like the subs. I think they are ok. Then again, I stream most of the time.

Well, it does get better later on..it's kinda slow at the start but it's getting better..when Erza comes in it'll great.
Currently in the manga though, it has become really boring..I dunno but there's too much Gerard.

I forgot about the anime. The manga is indeed boring. It's just too predictable. I knew I would not like Natsu since the first chapter of manga. He has not gotten any better although I'm guessing he does not get dizzy on transportation thanks to Wendy -spoiler. Lucy is another flawed character.

Ezra is ok but flawed as well. Manga isn't worth ranting about

The fights are usually quick with some decent choreography so hopefully this translates well into the Anime and some quality animation is used but looks like it will be the end of the year before we see anything.

^ The anime is out. I htink they are on episode 14 or so. The battle scenes in the anime are ok.

It seems the anime series will continue indefinitely and the manga is in a new arc right now which seems really interesting.

I'm not a huge fan of the manga and I watch the anime every now and then. It's field with typical Shounen type characters. I love the funny scenes though.

^True, have you been keeping up with Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece though? What are your thoughts on where they are in the manga right now?

I think out of the 3 mangas, Bleach hasn't been going great lately. They need half of the Gotei 13 to take down one captain. I don't care how strong Aizen really is --the mangaka does not need alot of captains and vaizards to take him down. Last chapter was a waste of time --wow! Aizen is so F****g strong. We already know that.

I'm currently enjoying One Piece again now that this whole war arc is going to be over. Luffy was pretty much useless throughout the entire arc. He survived by sheer plot armor. He should have been dead by now. Like many folks, I sort of miss his crew right about now. The big shots in this arc weren't even doing much --Marco, Jimbei, Crocodile, crazy schichibukai with furry coat. Kizaru is really annoying. I thought I did not like Aokiji but now realized Kizaru is just as annoying or even worse. The admirals logia ability is yet another hack in the system. There is no way to beat them unless you have mastered Haki. I wouldn't mind Boa joining the strawhat crew though

Now, my review on naruto. I have been really vocal about my dislike of how the manga is progressing. There's just been too much focus on Sasuke lately and the Uchiha and Sharingan. Just like logia types in OP, I believe the sharingan is yet another hack in the system. Seriously, immortality for 60 seconds (izanagi)? Are you kidding me? I don't find the battle with Danzou any amusing, it's just annoying and a distraction. I guess I'm glad it is almost over. With how things are going, the mangaka is probably going to focus on Sasuke again and ignore naruto in the cold. Where is Sakura and her team? I'm ready to have the spot light back on them. I doubt they have a chance against Sasuke. He's literally invincible.

I've been loving the Fairy Tale manga, they recently added to the worlds lore by adding (spoiler: a parallel magical world), this ties into the core of the existing lore established in a brilliant manner that I hope will further the main plot and driving ambition for our Salamander, namely finding a clue to the location of his dragon/parent.
I've only seen the first episode of the anime, which I enjoyed, but without the story incentive (since i already read the manga) there is little else that could make me watch it other than watching cool fights in full-motion and color.

Manga is better than anime for certain. I don't like the new turn of events though-alternate world.
