Are the mangas any good?

I think they're both good enough to keep my interest. And that's rare enough. Lol Well, I'm reading Kobato because it's by CLAMP. I always give their series a read. As for Kimi ni Todoke, I watched an episode of the anime--new series, just released first episode--and decided I wanted to read the manga. I also watched Kobato's first episode before picking up the manga.

They're both funny series. I can admit I have no idea what's going on in Kobato. CLAMP loves being vague and mysterious like that. We know Kobato has a wish she wants fulfilled. She's come to the Human Realm in order to complete the requirements. God has set a time limit for her and her fire-breathing stuffed animal of a 'mentor'. They're both racing against time to do what's required. But Kobato's an idiot with little common sense. I love all the cameo appearances. So far I've seen characters from Card Captor Sakura (Touya), Angelic Layer (Misaki), and Chobits (Landlady, Chii and her sister). Kohaku from Wish (OMG I LOVE THIS SERIES) was also mentioned. Ah, Yuuko from xxxHoLiC was also brought up. Clow Reed too!

Now, Kimi ni Todoke's hilarious. The main character's Sawako (Refreshing Child). She tries her best to be of help to the people around her, however it never ever ends well. She's too freaking scary. So although her name's Sawako, everyone calls her Sadako (the girl from The Ring). Her attempts at smiling are creepy at best and downright terrifying at worse. The only person who speaks to her normally is a classmate named Kazehaya Shouta, so of course she looks up to him as a role model of sorts. He's popular, able to get along with everyone, and modest too. He's basically the type of person she wants to be. And...she's dense as a fucking brick which makes it super funny.

Normally, when someone waits for you by the road early in the morning, not knowing when you'd show up and says to you, "Can I expect to see more of you over the summer vacation?" with red highlighting their cheeks in an absolutely adorable manner, you'd immediately understand they're asking you out right?

Nope... Not her.

The new chapter was okay. I was interested in the new character but there wasn't a lot to her in this chapter. I hope the mangaka adds more depth to the Love Me Section. We haven't seen them in awhile. It was an okay chapter --the iniitial pages about Ren and MokoxKyouko conversations are always funny.

I was laughing when Ren sabotaged his own move. If he was more bold about what he wanted and if he was more clear to HIMSELF, then maybe I'd be supporting him instead of Sho. Right now (and for the past 23 volumes), I don't know WHAT he wants.

^ I'd say he knows what he wants. He is just not as aggressive as Sho towards his goal. He had to sabotage his move for the plot to move on XD. Kyoko would probably lose her mind. Her little dialogue about modesty (I laughed when she looked at the guy passing by and cautioned him about him being a predator) was really amusing. Ren magic is very powerful.

He doesn't know what he wants.

He wants to get closer to her, but at the same time says he's won't. What's more, he says he CAN'T for reasons unknown to me. But he'll get jealous and throw fits of anger when another man gets close to her. O_o;

He can't have her (for reasons only he knows), but won't let anyone else have her either.

That's the very definition of youth, romance and all that mushy crap. Do you watch Jersey Shore? I was going to make a reference but nevermind.
